Messy Guerilla Ad Polluting Queen Street West
If you’ve walked down Queen Street West recently, you might notice annoying txt message ads of cut-out females and males linked together like heterosexual couples. These guerrilla ads are all over the place: from each bike stand, tree branches, sidewalks and streets - they are just creating garbage all over Queen West.
As if it wasn’t annoying enough to have these guerrila ads floating all over the place, there are also stencils on the ground, spray painted with the ad’s txt message. Another pet peeve of mine about these ads is that they completely ignore sexual diversity as all of the ads are simply female & male.
Guerrilla ads on Queen West is not going to blend in so easily with the street art - which I have no problem with. If street art is “illegal”, then these advertisements should be too. They’re plastered on the walls & they’re spray painted on the streets!
